We arrived yesterday in Kransjka Gora and we were lucky that we had the place to start packing our bikes. This means that we were able to get started at 08:30. Yesterday it was raining as we arrived but luckily it was nice and sunny this morning. The view from the hotel was already nice to start.

We had to start the day with a serious climb of around 900hm which started in the valley. We started with a couple of small routing mistakes and one of them was where we discovered we were on the wrong side 😅 Luckily the mistake was quickly fixed.

Cycled 3.6km, climbed 97m, currently at 948m high.

The climb was mixed gravel and asphalt and a couple of sections were pretty steep but we never had to do a hike-a-bike. The end section was pretty nice with awesome views. Of course we were happy to be at the top.

Cycled 13.2km, climbed 857m, currently at 1676m high.

At the top we had a nice coffee and chilled in the sun. After this we descended on asphalt and because we were making good progress we did a small climb to go the source of the Soca.

Once there we discovered we had to hike a part and turned around 😊

So near the source!

Cycled 24.2km, climbed 953m, currently at 899m high.

In the afternoon we made good progress on mixed gravel and asphalt roads. The Soca river has beautiful blue green water and is amazing but we were a bit disappointed about the amount of asphalt roads. Although there are no other options in the Soca valley.

As we were in Bovec around 15:00 we decided to pedal on to the last camping before our next climb. It’s a small camping and ideally located to start the climb head on tomorrow!

Cycled 61.1km, climbed 1270m, currently at 374m high.

We ended the day with a pizza and now it’s time to crawl into my tent and sleep!

See you tomorrow!
