Hi, I’m Kim

I discovered bikepacking in 2022 thanks to a good friend who bought a second mountainbike because he was waiting on the delivery of his first one. As soon as his MTB was delivered we started riding together. During these times we talked about his bikepacking dreams and I decided to join him on a trip. During this first trip I rediscovered my love of traveling by bike. As a young kid I did a couple of trips with my parents and I love the freedom and adventure these trips bring!

My setup consists of the following:

Kona Honzo

A stock Kona Honzo bike and the reason I’m riding it is because my friend bought one ;-). That being said, I love the bike and the way it rides and I only have good experience with it!

Tailfin

I’m a fan of Tailfin and their gear so I’m using their AeroPack Alloy on the back, augmented with two 10 L Mini Panniers.

Their 3L Downtube Pack is on the bottom of my frame and my suspsension fork has two Suspension Fork Mounts which carry four Large Cargo Cages. They contain two Cage Packs and two bottles for water.

Frame

A custom full frame bag from Ride and Get Lost. It’s an amazing bag and as it’s custom made it fits my bike perfectly. Pawel is awesome in helping you out, so don’t hesitate to contact him if you want some of his gear!

An AGU Venture Frame Pack Top Tube on the top of my frame and I think I’m going to extend this with a Top Tube Pack - Zip from, you guessed it, Tailfin.

Handlebars

Two AGU Venture Snack Packs and a Saltyroll with Harness.

GPS

An old Garmin Oregon 650 with a broken power button (which I replaced with a 3D printed version) but I’m thinking of replacing it with a Garmin eTrex 32x. I also have a Garmin Instinct 2 Solar watch which is absolutely not essential bikepacking gear but I love this thing!

Sleeping gear

I recently bought my first tent, a Nemo Dragonfly Bikepack. The link shows the OSMO version but I got the old, non OSMO version (it was cheaper and is using a material which has been used for a long time and OSMO is relatively new).

My sleeping bag is a Cumulus Lite Line 300 which is a down sleeping bag, meaning it can be stored away in a small package. I sleep on an Thermarest sleeping pad but I have no idea what type (I bought it a long time ago).
