Luxemburg - day 1 - Troisvierges - Lultzhausen
This is the route we biked today
We first drove from Zonhoven to Troisvierges. After some searching we found a good spot in the centre to park the car.

Cycled 49.6km, climbed 969m, currently at 328m high.
After a couple of hundred meters we were already pushing our bikes. The first single trail was so steep we had no choice… What a start!

As always our first kilometers were filled with minor things which we needed to fix. My dad’s bags kept on slipping forward so we used tiewraps to keep it back. We also quickly discovered that my dad needed to use the smallest gear on the front (and the front derailleur wasn’t working properly) so we fixed that as well.

My dad had to watch out to not use his electric battery too much too ensure he had enough for the whole day but he was still making good speed as shown in this picture:

We made good progress and soon discovered that we would be at our hostel way too quickly, so we had time to take some selfies:

And we took our time to have lunch as well at a nice place next to the road

Cycled 3.7km, climbed 147m, currently at 418m high.
Although our route was pretty well planned we did have a couple of spots where we missed a road and had to improvise. Sometimes this meant pushing through dense woods in search of roads and other times we had to ride through a nice meadow full of flowers:

And before we knew it we were close to our end destination and we had a stop at a nice bridge. Our route went up to a really steep single trail but we decided to skip it and ride a kilometer or so on the road.

So after some cool single trail we ended up at our last floating bridge (it was very stable Mom, don’t worry!!) and we were at our youth hostel.

We arrived a bit early and discoveredthat there were no shops or restaurants nearby. Luckily the Youth Hostel provided dinner and breakfast (and a lunch package). So now there’s nothing else left than to have a good beer and toast on the awesome day!
